This page has details of all the current submissions calls for specific upcoming Atlantean projects, as well as outlines for future plans whose development may be directed by your feedback and suggestions.
We are also always happy to receive general submissions and are especially in need of artwork. Our relevant guidelines and FAQs are available on this wiki — do please read them before sending.
Any queries are welcome at the addresses at the bottom of the page.

Please note that payment is one copy for contributions to booklets and anthologies. Acceptances and rejections will be sent out after the deadline.

Please be aware that we are closed to submissions each July and August and each December and January (excepting projects that close in those months).

Poetry and Fiction Wanted Now!

Line Length

There are no hard line lengths for poetry.

Word Count

For booklets open to poetry and fiction, prose should be no more than 4000 words and preferably under 2000. For prose booklets, prose should be no more than 5000 words and preferably between 1000 and 3000 words.

Poetry booklets

The Dark Tower VII

We are looking for poems that deal with the theme of the Dark Tower in some manner. Very short fiction may also be considered.

Horror Poems for Hallowe'en (2022)

Dark, scary or comic horror poems for our Hallowe'en booklet. Poems don't have to reference Hallowe'en.

Deadline: End of September 2022

Anthologies / Booklets

Pulp Adventures

Two-fisted tales, jungle adventures, tomb raiders and other stories of adventure with a pulp flair.

Lovecraftian Fiction

Fiction inspired by the Cthulhu Mythos and other stories of HP Lovecraft.

Horror Fiction

Scary stories and horrific encounters.

Clark Ashton Smith-Inspired Anthology

As the Spectre Press anthology seems to have been abandoned, we are once again open to fiction inspired by Smith's Tsathoggua and Zothique, and possibly other aspects of his writings.

The Supplement

We are always in need of news, reviews, articles and letters of comment (up to 3000 words, although we may consider longer pieces to be split over two or more issues) for The Supplement .

Bard-style single-sheet broadsides

The Bards and Xmas Bards

These single-author poetry broadsides are both open to future contributions. Please check a previous instalment to get an idea of poem counts and line lengths that are suitable for this format.

Xmas Bards closes each year in September.

Xothic Sathlattae and Yellow Leaves

Submissions are welcome for these Cthulhu Mythos (or any similar Mythos) and Yellow Mythos broadside series.

Garbaj Presents...

Submissions of silliness and satire for this broadside series are welcome. Please note that they will also be released in pdf format.

Solo Author Booklets

Currently closed to submissions. Please query first with an outline of your proposal, unless very short.

Poetry Booklets

Currently closed.

Prose Booklets

Currently closed. Collections or novellas of up to 10,000 (maybe 15,000 words).

Buxton University Press Imprint

This new imprint of fictional 'non-fiction' booklets is open to queries. Visit the imprint's page for more information.

Our 'step-sister' press Tigershark Publishing may be open to ebook ideas at some point - keep an eye on their website.


We are always looking for artwork for covers and fillers for many of our publications (Monomyth, Bard, Garbaj, our anthologies, various booklets and broadsides). We are also keen to hear from artists interested in illustrating fiction and poetry. Payment is, as with written contributions, a complimentary copy of the publication your work appears in; we are also happy to advertise your website or other projects with your work.
