The Monomyth Supplement was the original title of the magazine now known as simply The Supplement. Created during the hiatus of Monomyth in order to allow reviews, news, etc. to be published in a timely manner, it superceded Monomyth's role in publishing non-fiction, as well as carrying the occasional poem or very short story. Once it had developed an identity in its own right, it was decided to rename it, but a general feeling of attachment amongst readers to the moniker meant it merely shortened its name.
